The increase in species with new chemical mechanisms has necessitated an expansion in the number of emissions variables. To track these variables in an easy-to-read way the variable names in CMAQ are being expanded to 32 characters. SMOKE should expand the variable length from 16 to 32 characters to align with this change.

Will look into SMOKE documentation and SMOKE codes to see how length of variable is controlled.

Potential areas to look at: species definition file, IOVLEN3, INCLUDE files
