While not a direct solution, the History menu in the sidebar allows you to open the site without resetting the display. |

If you to Manage History, a pop up window will open. In this menu, if you open an item, the entire menu resets and puts you at the beginning. I find this very annoying.
Also, I would like to be able to search for something in Manage History and then right click one of the search results and have an option that says "Go to Result in History" which will then open up where that search result was in the entire search history. For example, if I search "Ice cream", I might find a result that reads "Molly's Ice Cream", I might want to see what I was searching when I was browsing Molly's Ice Cream 9 months ago so I will click Go to Result in History and it will show me the log surrounded by everything else, like in normal viewing without search mode. Does this make sense?
