Protected namespace editing?

In my public wiki, protected namespaces are not editable using Wikitext-VSCode even when using a sysop account behind a bot password that has all the necessary permissions to make any edit.

The message I get is as below:

Where should I check for permissions or how to otherwise go about troubleshooting this?

I have been performing some tests, and when straight up using the sysop account, everything works fine, meaning that at least this is not a structural limitation. But I had no idea that bot passwords had their own sets of permissions beyond those surfaced by the interface, thank you for that link! I'll need to talk to my backend manager about it.
