support multiple input connections for nodes, allow editing inputs in graph

These are some ideas I had while designing my own node based system a while ago, adapted to mostly fit into the current style of the graph. I think this would make the graph a lot more powerful.

I want to do this as a discussion and not a feature request because I don't think I do understand the graph well enough currently.
