OGP should improve the embed preview of haxeflixel.com links on Discord and social media. Specifically I would like the demos to use their thumbnail in the preview

I'll assume that Discord might get the most use/benefit out of nice clean looking embeds, so I'll link this reference I found

For image sizing seems like theres different options we can choose somewhat

basic og:image looks like this

and using oembed, can set type: photo and it'd look like this (however this method removes the description)

and adding <meta name="twitter:card" content="summary_large_image"> will keep both a bigger banner style thumbnail, and the description

Bit for future reference, I think not all embeds are created equal. Blogs for example maybe would be nice with a larger banner style image, and demos could be just their little thumbnail.

Another option also is to generate banner images, similar to Github embeds

This method would entail making custom images for each page via code when the site compiles, which isn't impossible just a matter of figurin that bit out.

All the info in my brain on this, I already began poking around and getting a bit nicer support for opengraph stuff today :)
