What is the Remote ID

Hello,

I am new to HA. I have an LG C3 WebOS TV and i am trying to set up this remote control. in the Remote ID field it states no entities found. How do I put in the correct entity for the remote to work?

Read the README section on media platforms and IDs.

LG webOS does not have a remote ID, only a media player ID.

You didn't set the platform to LG webOS. It's the first box on the first page of the config UI.

Okay got it. When I change to LG webOS platform. most of the icons disappear. Is there a way to keep these icons from android tv and allow them to perform actions on the LG webOS platform? Additionally how do I change the color of the icons to match the native app color (example Hulu, green)

Read the README. It's all explained there. Create custom actions for actions not in the default list, or create custom actions with the same name as default action to modify it. The README also has an example which modifies the colors of custom actions using the Appearance CSS Styles pane.

thank you very much i have figured it out. is there a way to change the color of the power button depending on the state? when tv is on its red and when tv is off its white?

Home Assistant has a templating system. Some default and custom cards support it. This card (and custom features) use my own implementation of the Home Assistant templating engine ha-nunjucks, which is like 99% the same syntax with some caveats. This should work if you create a custom action for power and add this to its styles:

var(--red-color) is the Home Assistant themes specific shade of red, just red also works.
