What is a Hackathon?

It's a creative coding session where people assembly teams and develop a prototype. A panel of judges picks the best one to win awards.

How long does it last?

It will cover the entire first day of the event. Initially 7 hours, possibly more.

Who can attend?

Everybody registered to the SMB Innovation Summit 2019 can be a part of the hackathon.

Does it have costs?

No

How big are the teams?

From 1 to 5 people

What do I need to create?

A prototype or proof of concept that helps small and medium business to become Intelligent Enterprises. You can create it from scratch or base it on a current solution as long as you make use of our Build Blocks

What are the awards?

The 1st place team will come up on stage in the main keynote and demo their prototype to the entire summits' audience. Also will receive a kit with several Lenovo products. A Smart Tab with Alexa built in, a Tablet, the AR game Jedi Challenge and a Backpack.

What are the judgement criteria?

  • Innovation: How creative is the solution?
  • Technical achievement: What technological problems had to be overcome to create this product?
  • Application: What kind of business impact will the solution make?

I am a developer, does it make sense for me?

Absolutely! This is THE activity for developers attending to this year's summits.

I am NOT a developer, does it make sense to me?

Yes, and we highly encourage you to. Even without coding skills, you can contribute with ideas and foment the creativity of your team from a non technical perspective. You can also make the final presentation of the prototype your team developed. A good pitch is a very good skill for wining the hackathon.
