Preflight checklist

  • I have searched the issue tracker for a bug report that matches the one I want to file, without success.
  • I have searched the frequently asked questions for a solution that fixes this problem, without success.
  • I have checked that I'm using the latest stable version of the app.

What app version are you using?

v5.5.10

What operating system version are you using?

Linux

Expected Behavior

Streaming anime without any issues and would not affect the internet connection across the local network.

Actual Behavior

The Internet is being throttled by the app regardless of whether it is installed in Mobile [Android], Windows 11, Windows 10, and Linux. It makes the entire network throttled down to the point that everyone is unable to use the internet. When the program is closed completely, the network is restored automatically. I have also done some troubleshooting, such as changing to a different network or internet provider. Restarting the router, resetting the router, and limiting the users who access it. The issue persists.

I also tried browsing the internet using chrome and firefox to see where the Miru app is installed, the internet is at a snail pace.

I also tried using a torrent software to check that the ISPs [Converge, DITO, Globe, and PLDT] might have throttling it but nope, it doesn't. From the looks of it, something in the app is causing the network to drop into a snail pace speed.

Requesting assistance and resolution for this one.

Thank you so much.

this is commonly reproductible on networks which are throttled/restricted in how many connections they can open, lower max peer counts to ~5 and restart miru
