Input Requirements for UTCI/PET in Spatial Thermal Comfort Module #730
-
I have a question regarding the application principles of the Spatial Thermal Comfort module within UMEP. According to the documentation, this module takes the outputs of the SOLWEIG and URock models as inputs, specifically, mean radiant temperature from SOLWEIG and wind speed from URock. My question is: how does the module compute thermal comfort indices such as UTCI or PET, given that it seemingly does not require direct input of air temperature and humidity? These parameters are typically essential for calculating both UTCI and PET. Could you please clarify how the module handles or substitutes these meteorological variables in its calculations? Thank you in advance for your help! |

Temperature and humidity is taken from the same meteorological forcing file used as when Tmrt is calculated within SOLWEIG. We should clarify this in the manual. |
