I believe reversibility only has to be satisfied up to the possible worlds that matches the state of the map. Instead of requiring an increment in the number of followers over time, which likely prevents transcendence, it might be a better idea to check that there is no world outside the possible ones that can produce a world that matches the new world.

With other words, it is kind of a Dr. Strange check (from the Marvel movies).
