I fully agree with you. I'd even use this extension. This extension would be awesome. But technological reasons make it impossible to write a plotinus extension. Plotinus is a wrapper-library around GTK3 to steal the information of the menu-bar and display it within the process, which uses the GTK3 library. Plotinus has no API to provide albert the neccessary information about possible menu items of the GTK3-application. @tristan-k Please ask the Plotinus-devs first to make Plotinus even compatible to albert. @ManuelSchneid3r As long as Plotinus does not have any API, this issue can be safely closed. |

I think I get it, it's like using albert as in app luncher as well, by exposing the application menu/command/shortcuts to albert via Plotinus, e.g.

@rabin-io Just what I had in mind. Thanks for answering. |

@p-e-w When looking at the API description, I don't see a way to integrate plotinus into albert yet. IIUC, you can retrieve the current list of available commands ( If that's the case, the plotinus API still fails to match albert's minimum requirement. Albert invokes actions. Please correct me, if I'm wrong. |

Ain't there some kind of accessibility api for xdg platforms? Macos has the menubar plugin which is indeed quite nice to have. |

Albert and Plotinus would be a perfect match. Triggering plotinus within Albert could be starting point.
