beforeAll & afterAll ignored

See in example code below, I have an 'AutomationTests' class which runs several test specs 'Tests1' and 'Tests2'.
I need 'Tests1' and 'Tests2' to run their beforeAll and afterAll methods at beginning & end of tests, however they are ignored.
I need a way to trigger beforeAll => is => afterAll.

Are you stuck with specs2-4.x or can you upgrade to specs2-5.x?

Currently I'm using scala 2.12, so can't upgrade to spec2-5.x.
Is there a way to resolve this in spec2-4.x, or need to upgrade all versions?

There are 2 ways to do this:

With explicit steps

You can insert "steps" in your specifications instead of using BeforeAfterAll . Then they will be part of the is definition:

With the structure method

The implementation of BeforeAfterAll actually does the same thing as the above by "decorating" the fragments returned by is with before/after steps. You can get this decorated content with the structure method, which requires an execution environment.
The end result is:
