WSJT-X, Gridtracker and QLog #674

Hi Bob, You have two options — both are essentially the same:
Example:
There are many videos on YouTube showing how to connect WSJT-X, GridTracker, and other logging software. The key point is: QLog and GridTracker must use different ports. You also need to decide which software will forward WSJT-X messages to the other. There’s also a third option — multicast — but that is intended for users with some networking experience. |

Hi Bob,
You have two options — both are essentially the same:
1. WSJT-X → QLog → GridTracker
Set WSJT-X to send notifications to QLog using the default port 2237.
In QLog, go to Settings → Network → WSJT-X and enable UDP forward to
your GridTracker. GridTracker must be set to listen on a different port —
for example, 2238.
Example:
WSJT-X sends UDP messages to localhost:2237 (QLog).
QLog then forwards WSJT-X messages to localhost:2238, where GridTracker is
listening.
In this setup, GridTracker listens on non-default port 2238.
2. WSJT-X → GridTracker → QLog
Set WSJT-X to send notifications directly to GridTracker on the
default port 2237.
In GridTracker, enable forwarding of WSJT-X messages to QLog.
Then, in QLog, go to Settings → Network → WSJT-X, and set a different
port — for example, 2238.
There are many videos on YouTube showing how to connect WSJT-X,
GridTracker, and other logging software. The key point is: QLog and
GridTracker must use different ports. You also need to decide which
software will forward WSJT-X messages to the other.
There’s also a third option — multicast — but that is intended for users
with some networking experience.

Hi Ladislav, I thought everything was working correctly with WSJT-X, QLog and Gridtracker, but WSJT-X crashes when I connect my radio to QLog. I am uncertain what the problem is as I think the configuration is correct. I have attached screenshots for you to see. Thanks, Bob. M0BOB. |

What radio are you using? In a basic configuration you can only use the rig with one app at a time WSJT or QLog. There are ways around it if you launch rigctld separately. There have been some posts in the forums here on how to do that. |

Here is a post I made on how I ran several applications connected to my 101D when I had it. #612 (comment) |

I decided that first and foremost that I need to get WSJT-X working correctly with QLog. At the moment WSJT-X crashes when I connect to QLog (GridTracker can wait). I have attached screenshots showing my WSJT-X settings (they are identical to my Windows settings and they work correctly). On the Network page of QLog I have entered 2238, but I have also tried 2234 and 2236 without any success. Any suggestions please? PS. I am a novice with Linux (Mint Cinnamon). Thanks, Bob. |

Uh oh!
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page.

I am a new user to Linux (Mint Cinnamon) and I installed QLog (a great logging program). WSJT-X is working in conjunction with GridTracker, but I cannot get my FT8 QSOs to automatically log into QLog. Is there a way of configuring this?
Apologies for asking here, but I can't find a user group/forum or a Facebook group.
Many thanks and 73,
Bob.
