External library: Generated images (thumbs, encoded-video) listed in timeline

The bug

Hello, I am running into the same issue as the topic below in a Windows 10 environment.

Server is running in docker compose, immich v1.131.3.
My photos are stored at E:\Photos
immich files are store at E:\immich

Immich is generating folders like the ones below and showing in the timeline (like double?).

• upload
• thumbs
• profile
• library
• encoded-video
• backups

I solved this by adding exclusion patterns.

• /thumbs/  
• /uploads/
• /backup/  
• /encoded-video/

The OS that Immich Server is running on
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro

Reproduction steps
Add external library, start scan and wait. Issue happens on all platforms (server, web, android app).

This is the problem. UPLOAD_LOCATION and any external libraries should be entirely separate.

but when I upload a new picture from my mobile, that I took today, I wish it to be stored in the external library, this way if ever happens to want to move away from immich, all pictures are in the same place. or am I understanding something wrong? thanks for your answer, though.

You cannot upload to an external library.
