What are your plans for releasing a new version? We'd like to depend on a stable release for our Alma processing, if possible.

Created the Projects->"Next release" (https://github.com/metafacture/metafacture-core/projects/2).
I added the mentioned PRs to the Projects Next release and moved them into the in progress column.
Note that there is no way to organize single commits in this way, so for them we have to remind them (I added this issue here as a reference (the only issue besides the PRs)). They have do be cherry-picked.
I propose to base the release on what we have now in the master plus some cherry-picking.
After this the artifacts are uploaded/deployed to oss.sonatype.org and release here on github.
This should be finished hopefully in the next week.

Great, thanks! Should we revisit #342 for inclusion in this release? Not a requirement on our part, though.

I think we are ready to release the master as 5.2.0. I've moved all merged commits and PRs to done in https://github.com/metafacture/metafacture-core/projects/2. The rebased oersi branch (see #329) contains only things we don't want to release (OAI-PMH workaround, see #360, and publishing to GitHub packages, see #357).
