Site not working, basic auth to blame?

I attempted to visit the monitoring page for one of my experiments on Firefox on my TV but it won't even start to load, perhaps because the page requires basic authentication and maybe Firefox-TV may not support that?

If that's indeed the case, is there a plan to support basic auth? It's not super secure but a lot of web pages use it as a screen door.
