Shut down AuthJS

Goals

Days are counted.

Would be great with the team from AuthJS would focus their effort into working on something meaningful, BetterAuth.

Instead of creating legacy library, and wasting time, we can speed up the process of Better-Auth and have an overall better dev.

Background

Yes, there is BetterAuth.

Its needed so we got more labour working on something that we actually going to use for years to come.

Proposal

Announce a shutdown date, and integrate contributors from this repo to BetterAuth.

Not to go into your toxic attack... I think that Auth.js still offers approaches and solutions at the moment that don't exist with better-auth. Especially for very simple and fast OAuth implementations. And competition is always good.

By the way, you still offer the implementation of Auth.js on your website mate...

You're right about the competition part. However, the way this package is done, is a bit ish.

The latest versions are a big nono. I never really liked AuthJS, except that I just created different components/templates I could eaisly connect to different back-ends to get this done quickly.

Even though I offer AuthJS, on a new project I would persuade the clients away to use better-auth, which is a lot better in general.

AuthJS has the marketing and everyone know what that is, so of course I have to mention it, doesn't mean I like it.

But yeah, I hope that the team can look into how BetterAuth does things, and get some inspiration from it.
