Visualize fullscreened vs only one window

Is there some way to visualize whether an app is fullscreened, or just the only open app on the screen?

The work around I am using for this is using layout tiles h_accordion instead of fullscreen. It makes the window large but leaves on the side a bit space.

Another consideration could be to use the mac native "full screen", didn't test this myself, it covers the status bar.

You might want to disable animation here. Feels a tick more sluggish as layout tiles h_accordion or fullscreen

macOS native has the downside of creating a macOS workspace, and you can switch on the same monitor to the other workspace and then don't see this open window.

I just came across fullscreen --no-outer-gaps again. It doesn't work with the macOS native menu bar. Having moved now to Sketchybar, it works by overlaying the window over the sketchybar to make the full screen a real full fullscreen.

So far, this works for me, but all of this feels hacky. Using/moving to sketchybar itself was a hack to show all workspaces on a monitor. That works now with full screen in my favor, though.
