Description

Mifos Pay is an open-source mobile wallet and digital payment solution designed by the Mifos Initiative—a global project committed to financial inclusion. It empowers underserved, unbanked, and underbanked populations, especially in emerging markets, by providing secure, accessible, and efficient digital financial transactions. Its primary goal is to bridge financial gaps, promote economic empowerment, and simplify digital transactions for communities traditionally left out of formal banking systems.

Goals & Mid-Point Milestone

Goals

1. Support of Field Officer Application development initially identifying issues and raising tickets for these.
Resolving issues with production grade fixes on (clientDetails, clientIdentifiers, clientList, clientSignature, Signature Canvas, clientIdentifiersDialog, clientCharges, clientChargeDialog, ClientPinpoint) CMP migration of feature/checker-inbox-task, feature/path-tracking, feature/client.

2. Payments Module (originally Merchant Payments Module)
Based on discussions and how the scope has evolved, this is no longer limited to merchant-side use cases. The module now aims to provide general-purpose payment features usable by both customers and merchants, supporting multiple payment methods such as:

• UPI payments

• Bank transfers

• Payments to mobile numbers

  The corresponding MW-255 Add Payment Methods Jira ticket reflects this shift in direction and captures the goal of building something akin to the modular payment interfaces found in apps like GPay or PhonePe.

3. Auto-pay Bills Module
This complements the Payments Module by enabling users to schedule and automate recurring payments to merchants or billers.

Other items originally in scope have been descoped in agreement between intern and Mentor to accommodate the adjusted scope in these items
