Revolt's current desktop application uses Electron, which has dropped support for Windows 7/8/8.1. If you'd like to use Revolt on Windows 7 you can use https://app.revolt.chat in your browser. We have no intent to support an operating system that is several years past discontinuation with multiple active CVEs. |

Hey, I run a Linux Mint/Windows 7 dual-boot setup on my computer, but I couldn't help but notice that the Windows version wants to be downloaded through the Microsoft store, which Win7 lacks. I found a manual download link on GitHub, but installing that gives the error that "Revolt.exe is not a valid Win32 application". I don't see this being discussed anywhere else and cannot quite understand what a chat program does that necessitates only modern operating systems, especially when it seems the web app works fine.
This is not a particularly large issue for me, but some programs I have only run on Windows operating systems, and I'd like to continue staying in touch with my friends while I'm on one system and not the other.
