Describe the bug
For the writing to actually appear on a slide, you need to click (anywhere) using "pen" mode (via mouse).

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to Slides
  2. Click on Pen
  3. Try scribbling using your mouse
  4. Notice that when you are finished, you need to click an additional time for the scribble to show up

Expected behavior
I expect the writing to show up without clicking an additional time.

I can't reproduce this. I've never seen this, and I didn't change the code in years.

Does it happen after you refresh your browser?

Yes, it is still happening for me https://cocalc.com/projects/82d2db7f-0967-4b33-94f2-82dab72246a5/files/2025-04-23-122348.slides#id=606816. Any slide file I create does this. Also, this happens for all projects for me, and I am in incognito mode with no extensions. Are you using a laptop or an actual pen or?

Normal setup with MacBook and built-in touchpad.

Got it - I realized the difference -- I was testing with a WHITEBOARD and you said SLIDES. Things work fine with a whiteboard, but not with slides.
