MediaElement Working on iOS but not Android (Issue #1650)

I entered an issue #1650. It has not received any views as far as I can tell. I thought I might just start a discussion to see. It seems like a pretty major issue that the MediaElement work on iOS for me, but not on Android. I can only suspect there is something basic I am doing wrong and there should be a quick answer. I can't imagine this just doesn't work on Android at all.

I am not sure how to diagnose it either. Any tips would be helpful.
