IBM Storage Scale container native

IBM Storage Scale container native allows the deployment of the cluster file system in a Red Hat® OpenShift® cluster. Using a remote mount attached file system, the container native deployment provides a persistent data store to be accessed by the applications through the IBM Storage Scale CSI driver by using Persistent Volumes (PVs). For more information, see IBM Storage Scale Container Storage Interface Driver.

Documentation for v5.2.3 points to the v5.2.3.x branch in this repository. This means all instructions in our doc remain unchanged and following the doc will always pull the latest released fix pack of the product.

  • Cache volume support for object storage.
  • For storage clusters with version 5.2.3.0 and later, one combined ContainerOperator GUI user is used instead of two separate users for ContainerOperator and CsiAdmin.
  • Support for RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE).
  • Ability to use local disks in Red Hat OpenShift nodes as file system storage in a shared configuration.
    • Disks or volumes can be added to or removed from an existing local file system.
    • The storage role must no longer be assigned to any nodes.
    • This feature was technology preview in the previous release and is now a supported feature.
    • Replication of local file system is a technology preview.
