Usage

Unscene brings effortless wallpaper management to your macOS desktop. Here’s how to make the most of it. No need to set wallpapers manually just press the shortcut keys anywhere and on any app your wallpaper will change automatically.

Known Issues:

1. Accessibility permissions may need a reset if shortcuts don’t work at first—remove Unscene from System Settings->Privacy & Security-> Accessibility then quit the app and reopen give Accessibility permission when the popup appears. After this quit the app again and reopen, You are good to go!!

Your wallpaper control hub

• 1. Click the Unscene icon (a photo symbol) in the menu bar.
• 2. See the next wallpaper time and pick from options like "Change Wallpaper" or "Channels."
• 3. Open Settings to tweak everything to your liking.

Curate your wallpaper vibe

• 1. Select from built-in channels: Nature, Abstract, Urban, Space, and more.
• 2. Toggle channels on/off in the menu or create custom ones with "Add New."
• 3. Combine existing channels into your own masterpiece (e.g., "Nature + Minimal").

Fine-tune your experience

• 1. Set Update Interval (30 min to weekly, trial mode: 24 hrs).
• 2. Enable Same Wallpaper on All Displays or go unique per screen.
• 3. Customize Shortcuts (e.g., Opt+Cmd+N to change wallpaper).
• 4. Pick a Download Folder for saved wallpapers.
• 5. Share your wallpapers with Contribute Wallpapers option and they will be available on Unscene ASAP.

  • Option+Command+N: Change wallpaper.
  • Option+Command+P: Previous wallpaper.
  • Option+Command+S: Download current wallpaper.
• Note: Requires Accessibility permissions—enable in System Settings!

Installation

Get Unscene running in a snap—here’s how:

Step 1: Download the App

• 1. Grab the .dmg from the Download for macOS link above.
• 2. Drag Unscene.app to Applications.

Step 2: Launch The App

• 1. Open Unscene.app.
• Note: Since it’s locally signed (no Apple Developer certificate yet), macOS might flag it as “damaged.” Right-click and select "Open" to bypass. A proper certificate is in the works!

Step 3: Grant Permissions

• 1. Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility and enable Unscene for shortcuts.
