Day-ahead price data is fetched from transparency.entsoe.eu, a service operated by Entso-E. Entso-E is an association of European association grid operators. Elering is a backup price data source for EE, FI, LV and LT.
To read data from Entso-E transparency API you need a free API key. To get a key:
- Register first on the ENTSO-E transparency platform
- Request an API key by sending an email to [email protected] (press this link) with “Restful API access” in the subject line. In the email, state your registered email address. You will receive an email when you have been provided with the API key. Enter the new API key to the field "EntsoE API key". If you control multiple devices you can use the same key on all devices. See Entso-E documentation: How to get security token?
Set your price area from the list of available price areas. Some European are divided into multiple price areas.
Price modifier allows you can for example set negative modifier for night time hours when the transmission cost is lower. Modified priced are used in all calculations, ranks. and grahs etc. Clear price cache and restart after the change.
Open Meteo based solar energy forecast requires location coordinates and panel setup (tilt+azimuth). FMI solar forecast is available in Finland only and is calculated in selected locations with a model panel setup (tilt 30°, South).
Panel peak power in watts to scale solar forecast. (Open Meteo and FMI)
Estimated daytime baseload (consumption) in watts. This is used to estimate solar "overproduction" if metering is not available. (Open Meteo and FMI)
Latitude of panel location (-90° - 90°).
Longitude of panel location (-180° - 180°). You can get latitude and longitude for example by clocking your location on Google Maps.
Declination/Tilt of the panels, 0° horizontal - 90° vertical (wall install).
Azimuth refers to the direction the panels face, measured in degrees clockwise from true north, 0° south, -90° east, 90° west.
Select the nearest available location for 24 hours solar power forecast.
Optional grid metering helps in optimising the use of self-produced electricity. Requires supported energy meter.
- HAN P1 Serial (adapter)
- HAN P1 Proxy (HomeWizard P1 Meter or another Arska device with HAN P1 Serial)
- Shelly 3 EM energy meter
GPIO number of the serial input (HAN P1 Serial only)
IP address of a Wifi connected meter/proxy
Typically 80 for Shelly 3 EM and HAN P1 Proxy
Optional password of the energy meter. (Shelly 3EM only)
Read about energy meter configuration
Optional production metering reads your solar inverter.
Some SMA and Fronius models supported.
IP address of the inverter
Typically 80 for Fronius, and 503 for SMA
Typically 3 for SMA ModBus.
Load management available is from version 1.1. Read about the principles of Load Management.
Choose how many phases there are in your electricity connection, 1 or 3
Maximum allowed current per phase, e.g. 25 if the main fuses are 25A. ###Max total power (kW) Maximum allowed power (15 min/1 h period average)
How long time system wait before re-switching loads after overload.
Define optional server for history time series reporting and analysis. InfluxDB is an open-source time-series database where Arska can store history data for reporting and analysis. See instructions
Change time zone and language. The program is mainly showing English texts regardless of your choice but there are some Finnish instructions on the channel templates.
Change WiFi network and password here. Refresh the list of wifi networks with 🔁 button.
Change default password arska (user id is admin) here to your own secret password. Until you have done it, the admin page is automatically opened with the warning. To change admin password type in in the both fields. Please note that this is only an additional protection for your Arska device. Protect your local network with a proper router firewall and other appropriate measures.
Backup and restore
Download current settings to a file. Take a backup always before system update.
Upload settings from a file on your computer. Could be used e.g. if settings are cleared in a system update.
- 🔁 Gets available software version (can take a while).
- Select version you want to update to from the list.
- Press "Upgrade" button on right to start.
Maintenance actions are special tasks used in configuration and troubleshooting.
- Scan sensors - Scans available temperature sensors. Use it after adding or removing sensors.
- Restart - Restart the controller.
- Reset settings - Clean all settings and start with default settings.
Select hardware template which matches your device esp32lilygo-4ch
Settlement/ reporting period, 1 hour or 15 minutes
Disabling server identity check can resolve some connection problems.
